Synergy Associates is an international firm specialising in IT for commercial art galleries and dealers. We typically work with larger galleries, helping them to operate effectively across multiple sites and time zones. We count a number of emerging galleries among our clients, and assist them in working optimally with fewer resources. Our services are underpinned by an understanding that IT has become a critical requirement of every gallery operation.
 
The art world had conventionally been under-served in terms of IT – supported by ad-hoc consultants with limited understanding of the art world and galleries’ specific demands. By contrast, Synergy operates as a gallery’s in-house IT team, helping to address business as well as technical needs. For example, we work with galleries to fit-out new spaces; assist gallerists in maintaining access to vital data during art fairs; and ensure that IT not only works well, but is sympathetic to aesthetic principles. Our scope of activity ranges from helping archivists to overcome the ‘big data’ challenges introduced by ever-growing digital image libraries; to protecting data and systems against cybercrime; to automatically updating staff email signatures to include details of latest exhibitions.
